DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

Creative Themes staff is at the parking lot from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM for camper to be dropped off, staff will make sure the campers safely get to their group. Parents can choose to drop-off or are always welcomed to park and walk their child into camp. (If dropping off after 9:00, an adult needs to walk campers in to camp to make sure they are signed-in.)

From 2:55 PM to 3:25 PM our dismissal for the end of the day begins. The CT staff then proceeds to follow our very safe loading and releasing of vehicles. This has been a very safe and efficient system for years. We ask that you follow directions, stay in your cars, and trust our great staff.

GENERAL

This program at Creative Themes will run for three weeks in June, designed for campers entering PK (4) and K in the fall of 2020. Campers can enroll for 1, 2 or 3 sessions. All sessions will have half day program (9 AM – 1 PM) and a full day program (9 AM – 3 PM). All campers need to be 4 years old by September 1st.

A Creative Themes camp t-shirt, is provided the first day of each session. (Note: (1) t-shirt per registered camper.)

GROUPS

Our staff during PDC is college students and professionals who have dedicated their education and careers to working with children. This is a fun and energetic staff, many of them with years of Creative Themes experience. Our staff ratio for the PK (4) and K program is 1:6 overall.

ACTIVITIES

All campers will have an opportunity to try our FACT (Fishing, Archery, Canoeing and Theater (Performing Arts)) activities. Each FACT activity will be done during the week at least once but more often if time and weather permits. All activities are highly supervised with our qualified staff.

Water fun activities including, pool time and waterside will be scheduled, if the weather permits. Our experience has found that Rochester weather does not make great swimming conditions for the month of June. Pools are always supervised with certified Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors. Every time we use the pool,we stress water safety and having a fun learning experience. Note: Our pools are 2 ½ to 4 ½ foot deep and great for beginner campers to learn and have fun.

Creative Themes has built our Summer Camp around Experiential Learning, also known as Outdoor Adventure Education. We have designed activities and elements that are age appropriate for the PK and K age groups. Our staff is trained to help campers experience a safe and fun outdoor play and learning experience.

Art is done daily.

Parents provide lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Kool-Aid, lemonade, and water are provided every day for lunch. Cool drinking water is always available all day/every day.

Lunch will be provided for campers and staff on FRIDAY only. Friday camp has “Pizza Party.”

Campers with allergies – CT is fully committed to handling all dietary restrictions and food allergies in an efficient and professional manner. Individual attention is the hallmark of how we handle this vital safety issue. Your child’s Lead Counselor will take care of all food allergy matters for your camper. He/she will communicate with parents about individual needs. We also have a staff member in our office who is responsible for handling food allergy questions.

Creative Themes maintains “Peanut Free” tables at camp! We are always happy to talk with parents about the needs of their child.

CT has many staff trained in First Aid and the use of epi-pens.

Creative Themes

ACTIVITIES

The Creative Themes program is made up of the following activities, for a fun-filled summer experience! Activities are tailored to suit all age levels, whether preschoolers or teens.

THEMES

The creative blend of themes and camp activities make the Creative Themes summer program the “Best Camp Anywhere!”

WET WATER FUN

Our staff is American Red Cross certified and will have creative water activities for all ages of campers to do during their pool time. We also allow plenty of free time for creative water play or just “cooling off.”

CANOEING & KAYAKING

Enjoy taking a canoe ride around our pond. Keep your eyes open for frogs and turtles!

NEW GAMES ACTIVITIES

Our games are designed for everyone to participate, regardless of their sex, age, or size. We use foam and plastic for all games. When you play hard and enjoy yourself, you’re a winner!

SPORT NUTS

If you can kick it, throw it, toss it, catch it, bounce it, juggle it . . . we’ve got it! Our soccer balls, softballs, kickballs, volleyballs, tether balls, and basketballs are always in motion. Try them all!

PERFORMING ARTS

The techniques are as varied as your moods. Theater, mime, clowning, juggling, and music are all possibilities. And our spacious “Bear Theater” is the perfect place to show your stuff.

NATURE STUDY

Ponder the wonders of our ponds! We have rabbits, frogs, all types of fish, bugs, birds, plants, trees, and flowers.

ARTS

When has anyone ever told you to get your hands dirty? We encourage it! Come to stir up the paints and twist a tangle of colorful materials to create something that is uniquely you!

ARCHERY

Start with the basics — safety procedures, equipment knowledge and handling, rules, and fundamentals. You never know who will be the next Robin Hood! (USA Archery instruction followed)

FISHING FANTASY

Fish in our pond for bass, bluegills, carp, and bullheads. Experience the excitement of netting a turtle or frog! Learn the proper techniques of baiting and casting, and practice to your heart’s content using our “catch and release” approach to the sport of fishing. Catch “Big Louie”!

TEAM CHALLENGE COURSE

A 16- station low element adventure program for campers of all ages and abilities. The course includes adventure games, initiative problems, trust activities, and low-balance exercises. The uniqueness of this course provides an opportunity for everyone to participate, interact, and learn in a spirit of mutual support and cooperation.

TOWER OF POWER

A 4-sided 28-foot rock climbing tower, plus ship’s mast net! Campers will use the tower to develop climbing skills while increasing self-confidence.

HIGH ELEMENT ROPES COURSE

12 element ropes course is an excellent complement to the Team Challenge Course. Utilizing outdoor adventure programs, this course for 13-year-old and older campers and staff is a great way to teach and experience team building, problem-solving, personal commitment and self-confidence.
