Creative Themes has a program for 8th and 9th graders. For 2022 we have combined two of our commonly signed up programs “Teen Camp” and “Leader in Training” into one, our Teen/Lit Camp. Enrollment for these weeks will have a limited number of participants, however, for this summer campers can register for multiple weeks if desired.
The Teen/LIT Program is designed for teens seeking a camp and team-building experience with their peers. A challenging and flexible program based on the interest and choices of the group. This program will use the overall camp themes to help develop the teen’s schedule of activities. The program will be designed to develop teens’ leadership skills using daily challenges. This one-week program focuses on the fundamentals of working as a team including communication, trust, leadership, conflict management, and goal setting.
For the summer of 2022, we will limit teens to attending a maximum of two Teen/LIT weeks.
This program is designed for teens who have already participated in at least one of the Teen/LIT weeks and are interested in experiencing additional adventure challenges both as an individual and with a team. This week includes leading campers in activities/games, initiatives, and high rope elements that are extensions of what was done during Teen/LIT weeks. This program is for campers looking to take their skills to another level. The week will be designed by the staff and teens to include activities promoting team-building, problem-solving skills, and developing self-confidence. Teens will be mentored by our staff to plan camp activities and lead adventure activities. Teens this week will start building fundamental skills in communication, being a team player, and being a self-starter.

This program is designed to be an introduction to a leadership course, where games, initiatives, and challenges are used to develop the group’s leadership skills. Teens will still be working with their peers, building relationships with the camp staff, being role models for younger campers, and deciding if they want to take leadership to the next level at camp. Camp activities will also be included throughout the day.
The Teen/LIT at Creative Themes provides an exciting opportunity for 8th and 9th graders to take positive risks to grow, explore and have fun. In keeping with the Creative Themes philosophy, we strive to provide an atmosphere conducive to the creative expression of self, in which campers become aware of, and learn respect for their environment and their peers. This one-week leadership program is designed to assist youth in developing skills in team building, problem-solving, leadership, and self-confidence. Each leadership group is asked to commit to a “Full Value Contract,” to ensure the proper and effective execution of the program.
This contract includes:
