DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

Creative Themes staff is at the parking lot from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM to greet children. Staff will make sure the children safely get to their designated areas.

At noon, staff will escort half-day children to the parking lot for dismissal, followed by full-day children at 3:00 PM. Our CT staff adheres to a carefully designed, safety-focused process for loading and releasing children from vehicles. This system has been highly effective and efficient for many years. We kindly ask for your cooperation in following directions, remaining in your vehicles, and trusting our dedicated staff to ensure a smooth and safe dismissal.

GENERAL

This program at Creative Themes will run for three weeks in June and is designed for campers entering PK (4) and K in the fall of 2025.  If a child would like to attend with another child, they must be enrolled in the same option.

All children need to be four years old by September 1, 2025.

GROUPS

Our June program staff consists of college students and professionals who have dedicated their education and careers to working with children. They are fun and energetic. Our PK (4) and K program staff ratio is 1:6 overall.

ACTIVITIES

All campers will have an opportunity to try our camp activities: fishing, Archery, Canoeing, and Art and Creativity (Theater Area). Each activity will be scheduled multiple times during the week(weather permitting). All activities are highly supervised by our qualified staff.

Swimming pool and water slide activities will be scheduled if the weather permits. We have found that, most likely, our full-day campers will have more opportunities than half day. Our experience has found that Rochester’s weather does not produce excellent swimming conditions for June. Certified Lifeguards always supervise pools. Every time we use the pool, we stress water safety and having a fun learning experience. Note: Our pools are 2 ½ to 4 ½ feet deep and great for beginner campers to learn and have fun.

Creative Themes has built our Summer Camp around Experiential Learning, also known as Outdoor Adventure Education. We have designed activities and elements that are age-appropriate for the PK and K age groups. Our staff is trained to help campers experience safe and fun outdoor play and learning.

Note: A CT camp t-shirt is given to each camper. (Note: one t-shirt per registered camper.)

SNACKS/LUNCH

Snacks—All campers are scheduled for a snack time in the morning. Campers should pack a non-refrigerated snack of their choice.

Full-day campers- will have a lunchtime daily. Campers must bring their lunch Mondays through Thursdays, and on Fridays, campers will have a pizza party lunch. (full-day campers only)

Cool drinking water is always available every day.

Children with allergies- CT is fully committed to handling all dietary restrictions and food allergies efficiently and professionally. Individual attention is the hallmark of how we operate this vital safety issue. Your child’s Lead Counselor will take care of all food allergy matters for your child. He/she will communicate with parents about individual needs. Our office also has a staff member responsible for handling food allergy questions.

Creative Themes maintains “Peanut-Free” tables! We are always happy to talk with parents about their children’s needs.

CT has staff trained in First Aid and the use of epi-pens.

Creative Themes

ACTIVITIES

The Creative Themes program is made up of the following activities, for a fun-filled summer experience! Activities are tailored to suit all age levels, whether preschoolers or teens.

THEMES/SPECIAL ACTIVITY DAYS

Themes and Special Activity Days will be woven throughout CT’s summer sessions. Campers will enjoy these activities and our other camp activities weekly. This creative blend of activities makes the Creative Themes summer program the “Best Camp Anywhere!”

CANOEING & KAYAKING

Enjoy taking a canoe ride around our pond. Keep your eyes open for frogs and turtles!

NEW GAMES ACTIVITIES

Our games are designed for everyone to participate. We use foam and plastic for games. When you play hard and enjoy yourself, you’re a winner!

SPORT NUTS

If you can kick it, throw it, toss it, catch it, bounce it, juggle it . . . we’ve got it! Our soccer balls, softballs, kickballs, volleyballs, tether balls, and basketballs are always in motion. Try them all!

CREATIVITY

The techniques are as varied as your moods. Creativity can be improv games, plays or playing music. And our spacious “Bear Theater” is the perfect place to show your stuff.

NATURE STUDY

Ponder the wonders of our ponds! We have rabbits, frogs, all types of fish, bugs, birds, plants, trees, and flowers.

ARTS

When has anyone ever told you to get your hands dirty? We encourage it! Come to stir up the paints and twist a tangle of colorful materials to create something that is uniquely you!

ARCHERY

Start with the basics — safety procedures, equipment knowledge and handling, rules, and fundamentals. You never know who will be the next Robin Hood! (USA Archery instruction followed)

FISHING FANTASY

Fish in our pond for bass, bluegills, carp, and bullheads. Experience the excitement of netting a turtle or frog! Learn the proper techniques of baiting and casting, and practice to your heart’s content using our “catch and release” approach to the sport of fishing. Catch “Big Louie”!
